About Gord Aker, MCC

I am passionate about helping people discover, develop and deploy their leadership talent because leadership matters.

Great leaders drive positive change and encourage growth. Great leaders inspire superior performance. Great leaders build communities and teams that accomplish extraordinary things and deliver exceptional results.

My approach to leadership development is both personal and practical. It is also a product of real leadership experience.

I have over 20 years of organizational leadership experience including senior leadership roles at TC Energy Corporation and Penn West Petroleum. I also have experience in the not for profit sector having served as the President of a Registered Charity.

After over 30 years in different industries, sectors and environments, I am well aware of the varied challenges and responsibilities faced by leaders in today's business climate.

Service and community are both important to me and in 2018 I completed a second three-year term as a Senator at the University of Calgary. I am currently the Chair of the Board of Directors of the  The Military Museums Foundation in Calgary.

You can learn more about my beliefs regarding leadership in my Leadership Manifesto.
